website for the first Ensenada (Baja California, Mexico), FAI Cat. 2 Paragliding Open to be held from May
10th to 16th of 2011. On behalf of the organization, we thank
you for visiting us and we hope your stay and flights in Ensenada
to be most pleasuring and memorable.

and wine on the wine country of Ensenada, where you will experience
new flight areas and new flavors of food and wine tasting. Explore

Registry
day: Today we already have the first pilots flying at La Salina
for the practice day with the media (Radio, TV, etc.), the official
registration is currently open at the headquarters on Las Rosas
Hotel, just head out to the tennis courts and you will see the
office right after the parking lot. Remember that registry, payment
and security briefing on the afternoon are mandatory! Safe flights
and enjoy your stay on Ensenada, Mexico.

notice to all pilots: Remember that according to FAI international
regulations, is mandatory that all pilots must have a copy and
be fully aware of the Local Regulations for the Ensenada Open
2011 competition. All registered pilots will get their copy during
registration day, but in the meanwhile you can download the PDF

News: We
have a preliminary waypoints set for downloading on KMZ (Google
Earth). Please take notice this is preliminary and this is by
no mean the final set to be used during the competition. The
final and definitive set will be properly uploaded to the competitors
GPS devices post registration on May 10th at the official headquarters.
We are making
available also a KMZ file of a typical XC flight from La Salina
to wine country just as an example of what can be done around
on a regular DHV 1-2 for your delight.

Pilot shuttles from
the San Diego and Tijuana airports are available! We have shuttle
service available free for registered pilots departing on May
9th and back on May 17th from the San Diego airport and with
a stop at the Tijuana airport to Ensenada with priority pass
at the Mexican customs, this is a safe and comfortable service
for all of you. Priority will be given to pilots in order of
registration. Write us to info@ensenadaopen.com if you want to
use this service and book you in!

Open 2011 is proud to announce that Herminio Cordido (Never
Ending Thermal, I'd Rather Fly, Ozone´s
Because, etc.) has been sponsored and invited by Ensenadas'
Municipal Tourism Secretary for which we will be having him throughout
the event.
Herminio
Cordidos Bio:
Herminio
was born in Caracas, Venezuela, May 21st 1980. He has been flying
paragliders since he was 13 years old and is mainly famous for
his acro maneuvers around the world, member of the Venezuelan
Paragliding National team for 10 years and Factory Competition
and Test Pilot for Ozone. As a hardcore passionate of extreme
sports he enjoys skydiving, surfing and skateboarding among many
other sports. Hes famously known by being a sports videographer.
He started capturing images with his Dad's video camera since
he was young. In 1997 he entered Roberto Mata Photography School,
and by 2000 he was photographic director of Session Mag, an extreme
sports Magazine. In 2002 Herminio was offered to work on a free
flying documentary around the world for Outside TV and Outdoor
life network. He graduated in 2006 specializing in Cinematography
in Toronto.
